James, king of the Scots by the grace of God, sends greetings to all good men, clerics and laymen, of the land. Let it be known that we have understood that this charter of our beloved and faithful Duncan Campbell made and granted to his young son Colin Campbell for all and individual lands of the property of Glenurchay, with the aforementioned annexed island lands, which are commonly called Elanewyr, Elanduffeir, Elankylequhurn, Elanloch Tellas, and about all and individual of his lands having been mentioned below; namely, the four pennyland from Achykynnay with the island called Elandorrach, the two pennyland of Kelleag, the five pennyland of Fernach, the five pennyland of Da Innurynyn, the penny land of Cragbamoriam, and the two markland of Upper Sonnochan, between the river which is called Altbane and the river which is called Altbrekkynnych, lying in the barony of Lochaw, within the sheriffdom of Ergadie. Let it be known that we have understood that this charter fully by our mandate has been, read, inspected, and diligently examined, neither scraped, nor abolished, nor cancelled, nor violated in any of its parts, but rather lacking falseness or suspicion in this form. To all who shall see or hear this charter, Duncan Campbell, the lord of Lochaw, sends everlasting greetings in the Lord. Let all know that we have given, conceded, and, by this present charter, confirmed to our dearest young son Colin Campbell, perpetually, of that one and his male heirs, for the homage, service, and special support to be applied to us and our heirs, all and individual lands of our property of Glenurchay, with the aforementioned annexed islands, which are commonly called Elanewyr, Elanduffeir, Elankilequhurn, and Elanlochtellas, and all and individual of our lands mentioned below [...]]]></dcterms:description>

James, king of the Scots by the grace of God, sends greetings to all good men, clerics and laymen, of his land. Let it be known that we gave, conceded, and confirmed, in this our present charter, to our beloved and faithful John Menzies, the son and heir of our beloved David Menzeis, knight and monk of the monastery of Melrose, all and individual lands of the barony of Rawar with pertinents, the lands of Weem, the lands of Aberfeldy, the lands of Cumrie, the lands of the thanage of Crennych with pertinents, lying within the sheriffdom of Perth and the county of Athol; and that these lands with pertinents were of the inheritance of said David Menzeis and which this same David neither by force, nor brought by fear, nor slipped into error, but by his pure and spontaneous will, surrendered purely and simply, resigned into our hands personally , according to the staff and baton, with the consent and assent of his abbot and convent at Edinburgh. And for himself and his heirs he renounced all right and claim which he had or could have on the said lands with pertinents in perpetuity. To have and to hold all and individual aforenamed lands of the barony of Rawar with pertinents, the lands of Weem, the lands of Aberfeldy, the lands of Cumrie, the lands of the thanage of Crannyk with pertinents, to the aforementioned John and his heirs, from us and our heirs, in fee and permanent heritage, according to all rights, his ancient boundaries, lands and devises, with all and individual liberties, commodities, and easements, and his just pertinents, whatsoever, for said lands with pertinents, belonging or justly to belong to said lands in the future, freely and quietly, fully, wholly, and honorably, well and in peace in all and for all. Just as said David, or anyone of his predecessors, held and possessed the aforementioned land with pertinents from us and our predecessors before said resignation, having been made freely, to us. Making, thereafter, David and John and their heirs, owed and accustomed service to us and our heirs. Reserving, nevertheless, liferent of said lands with pertinents to the aforementioned David, for the whole time of his life. In witness of this, we ordered that our great seal be placed on our present charter. Witnesses: Our beloved, relative, William, Lord Crichton, our chancellor, Alexander of Livingston, John of . . . , William of Croston, knights, Richard Crag, vicar of Dundee, our cleric, at Edinburgh on the 21st day of January, the year of our lord, 1440, the fourth year of our reign.]]></dcterms:description>

James by the grace of God, King of the Scots sends greetings to all good men, laity and clergy, of all his lands. May ye know that we had given and conceded and confirmed with this present letter to our beloved John Menzies of Ennath lands of Weme with pertinents, lands of Aberfeldy, lands of Glassy, Fernoble, Fergill, Glengowlandie, Kynnaldy, Cumrey, Fornachty, Anthilly, Morenish, Edramuckie, of the thanage of Crannyk with two voras situated within our sheriffdom of Perth into one pure and free barony with its pertinents and also its office of toscheochdoraship of Artholony with pertinents. Which lands indeed with the aforesaid office with its pertinents had been of the said John the heir of the land and which that same John, neither led by force, fear nor fallen into error but rather by pure and unaided will, surrendered purely and simply resigned into our hands at Edinburgh in front of the underwritten witnesses by staff and baton. He also surrendered all right and claim which he had or could have had in those lands and the office with pertinents for himself and his heirs <...> We incorporate, announce and unite those aforesaid lands with pertinents into one pure, free and whole barony of the rest of the barony called Weme. We unite all and whole of the aforesaid lands with their pertinents into one pure and free barony called the barony of Weme and the said office of toscheochdoraship of Artholony with its pertinents to the said John and his heirs to be held and possessed from us, our heirs and successors in fee and heritage in perpetuity by their rights, ancient and divided boundaries as they are situated in longitude and latitude in woods, plains, moors, marshes, ways, paths, waters, lakes, rivers, meadows, pastures and pasturages, mills, multures, and sequels of the same <...> fishings, peats, turfs, coal-pits, quarries, stone and lime, smithies, kilns, breweries, and brooms, with pits and gallows, soc and sak, tolls and teams, infangandtheif and outfangandtheif and their issues <...> and womens' merchets with tenants, tenantries and service of free tenants, with free forest and warren and with all and singular other liberties, commodities and easements and just pertinents are whatsoever, both not named and named, belonging to the said lands and office, or which shall in any way happen to belong justly to them in the future, freely, quietly and honourably well and in peace as the said John or his predecessors more freely held or possessed the aforesaid lands and office with the pertinents before the resignation made to us. Thence by rendering annually the said John Menzies and his heirs to me or my witnesses three suits at court at Perth in the three chief courts of our sheriffdom of Perth such to be held annually. In witness thereof we order that our great seal be applied onto this present charter. Witnesses: the Reverent in Christ Father William, Bishop of Glasgow; William, Lord Creichton, Chancellor, beloved kinsman of our kinsman William, Lord Somerville; Alexander, Lord Montgomery; Patrick, Lord Glammys, master of the King's household; the venerable in Christ Andrew, Abbot of Melrose, our confessor and treasurer; William of Edmondstone of Collodin; John Logan of Lestalryk and George Campbell of London, knights, Masters John Arons, Archdeacon of Glasgow and George of Sheriswod, Rector of Cultir and our cleric.
